Awarded by Lagan Construction, Cidon's experience in the Energy from Waste sector was instrumental in securing this contract.

The facility was completed in 2017, when it began treating household residual waste from the South London Waste Partnership – Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton borough councils.

Generating a capacity of 26MW, the plant supplies electricity to the National Grid and the potential for usable heat to local industry or housing, producing enough power for approximately 30,000 homes.

Unique Features

  • Extensive temporary works capability and experience in this sector enabled quick and efficient design solutions.
  • Bunker walls incorporating buttress columns and corbels, jump formed with PERI CB 240 & Trio Panel system.
  • Integration of precast concrete solutions within the design facilitated a reduction in the number of high risk operations for complex elements within this structure.
