Make a Difference
One of the greatest rewards of our success is that we are able to give back and support our chosen charities through our annual make a difference campaign.
Each year, our charity committee selects a number of local or lesser-known charities to support. We contribute in various ways, including fundraising, hosting events, undertaking small building projects, and procuring items for special initiatives specified by the charities.
Our team has embraced a variety of challenging events, and we are always committed to supporting and encouraging participation.
From runners in the Yorkshire 10k, group 100k cycle rides, charity raffles, walking events, and Christmas appeals — there is always something for our team and suppliers to get involved in!

Over the last couple of years, we have raised over £35,000 for our chosen charities, demonstrating our team and supporters’ dedication and generosity in supporting causes that matter.
Keep up to date by following our social media channels, and see how you can get involved. Your support really does #makeadifference

Supporting Families with PACT – The Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia
This year, we are honoured to partner again with PACT – The Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia, an organization that has been providing crucial support for families of children undergoing cancer treatment at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. PACT’s unwavering commitment to helping families through such difficult times makes a tangible difference, and we are proud to support their work.
About PACT
PACT provides vital support services to families of children who are battling cancer. Working closely with Ward 6 at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, PACT offers families a range of resources, ensuring they have what they need during one of the most challenging periods of their lives.
Key Support Services:
- Free Accommodation: PACT provides a comfortable, free-of-charge house for families and their siblings to stay in, located very close to the hospital for easy access during treatment.
- Meals & Refreshments: The organization offers sandwiches and refreshments throughout the week to help reduce family expenses during an emotionally and financially taxing time.
- Respite & Family Breaks: PACT offers family breaks in two caravans, providing much-needed respite between or after treatment, allowing families to reconnect and recharge.
- Bereavement Support: PACT runs regular bereavement coffee mornings, offering a supportive space for families who have lost a child to cancer to network, share experiences, and receive support.
- Play Specialist Support: PACT helps fund materials and resources for play specialists who spend time with children undergoing treatment, offering them creative and therapeutic activities to aid recovery and emotional well-being.
Why have we partnered with PACT
We believe in supporting families through times of hardship, and PACT provides essential services that make a significant difference. By supporting PACT, we can help alleviate some of the burdens faced by families during such a difficult time and ensure that their children’s medical and emotional needs are met.
How are we supporting PACT
Throughout the year, we will be working alongside PACT to raise awareness and support their initiatives, whether through fundraising through our charity ball, direct donations, or community engagement. Our goal is to help PACT continue providing their invaluable services and to offer a network of support to families in need.

Sheffield Care Leavers Union – Speak Up Now (SUN)
Speak Up Now! (SUN) are a young people's group of care experienced young adults aged 17-25.
At Cidon, we believe in the power of community and supporting young people as they navigate the challenges of life after care. That's why we’re proud to partner with Speak Up Now! (SUN), a passionate group of care-experienced young adults aged 17-25 who work tirelessly to advocate for and create positive change for care-experienced children and young people.
Our Partnership with SUN
In 2024, Cidon was honored to support SUN’s Comfy Cosy Crates initiative, which was designed to tackle the issue of loneliness and safety among young people transitioning into their first independent homes. Moving into a new home after leaving care can be overwhelming, and the Comfy Cosy Crates provide a thoughtful selection of essential and comforting items to help young people feel safe, secure, and cared for during this significant life transition.
The Impact of Comfy Cosy Crates
The hampers, carefully curated by the SUN team, contained practical items ranging from home essentials to personal comforts that were chosen to make a real difference in the lives of young people. In partnership with generous donors and suppliers, we were able to provide 15 hampers to young people, who received them with immense gratitude.
We were also proud to celebrate with SUN when they were awarded the ‘Educating and Influencing Award’ at the Sheffield Voice Youth Awards 2024 for their incredible efforts with the Comfy Cosy Crates initiative.
Looking Ahead – Continued Support
Our support for Speak Up Now! doesn't end with one project. We are committed to continuing our partnership in 2025 and beyond, working with SUN to address the evolving needs of care-experienced young people in Sheffield and beyond.
Continuing our support since 2018, LAC stands for Looked After Children.
The LAC Council is a group of young people who are in foster care and care leavers agreed 11 - 18 who help raise awareness about things that affect Looked After Young People.
