Project Description

Cidon were appointed to undertake the reinforced concrete substructure and superstructure at the Paterson Redevelopment Project at The Christie Hospital in Manchester for Vinci Construction.

The 10-storey building basement level was to include more than 113,300 sq. ft of laboratory and research space over four floors, along with 92,000 sq. ft of consultant workspace.

Integrated Health Projects, the joint venture between Vinci and Sir Robert McAlpine, operated as the main contractor for The Christie's £150m Paterson Building scheme.

The facility was set to be twice the size of the previous Paterson Building which was extensively damaged by fire in 2017. By 2030, the building will be at the heart of our ambition to lead the world in clinical trial recruitment – supporting the development of new and kinder cancer therapies.
